So this weekend sees the first birthday party of my niece. Unfortunately it is also my kids weekend with their mother. So I phone and ask if the kids can come to their nieces birthday party on Sunday afternoon. I get told no- not vindictively but because a niece on my wife’s side is having her second birthday party at the same time!

In the old times we would have found a way, gone half half or something. Now- well I will be making apologies and trying to explain to another niece why her favourite cousin isn’t there. Ah well, I knew when the divorce started that these kind of issues would occur- but as the first time it has happened, I guess its part of the process of normalisation and getting used to the new status quo.

As this blog says- it is my other thoughts.  Other thoughts?  Yep- my first blog is over at http://marcl1969.wordpress.com and is focussed on Jewish issues and religion.  This blog- well its for my other thoughts.  Divorce. single parenthood, Zionism, kids, moaning about the job, finances or anything else that strikes me at any point in time.
